FROZEN SHOULDER
Causes & Risk Factors
Frozen shoulder is the result of inflammation, scarring, thickening and shrinkage of the capsule that surrounds the normal shoulder joint. Any injury to the shoulder can lead to frozen shoulder, including Tendinitis, Bursitis, and rotator cuff injury. Frozen shoulders occurs most frequently in patients with Diabetes, Chronic Inflammatory Arthritis of the shoulder, or after chest or breast surgery. Long-term immobility of the shoulder joint can put persons at risk to develop this condition.
Frozen shoulder patients normally suffer significant loss of range of motion in all directions of the shoulder joint. The range of motion is limited not only when the patient attempts motion, but also when the doctor attempts to move the joint fully while the patient relaxes. Frozen shoulder can limit the daily activities in the patient’s life.
At 3 Treasure, how do we treat Frozen Shoulder?
At 3 Treasure we use totally natural, drug free treatment based on our 20 years of clinical experience treating frozen shoulders. First of all, we work out a personalised treatment plan for each patient at the initial consultation. It is important to make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms so that appropriate treatment can be directed at the cause
The short term goal of treatment is to decrease inflammation, improve Qi & blood circulation, which helps to reduce symptoms and free-up shoulder motions. One or more of the following effective treatments will be used to help you to relieve pain, swelling, stiffness, inflammation, redness and other associated symptoms:
- Chinese Herbal Medicine
- Acupuncture
- Functional Food
- Alkalise Diet
- Life-style Change
- Qigong Breathing Exercises
Once the short term goal is achieved, the long term goal of treatment is for regeneration of the liver, which in Chinese Medicine governs the joints, ligaments and tendons.
