KNEE PROBLEMS

Prevention
Many knee problems can be prevented by following some simple steps:
  • Warm up before playing sports. Walking and stretching are good warm-up exercises. Stretching the muscles in the front and the back of the thighs is a good way to warm up the knees.
  • Strengthen the leg muscles by doing certain exercises (e.g. walking up stairs, riding a stationary bicycle, or Qigong breathing exercises)
  • Increase the force or duration of activity slowly
  • Wear shoes that fit and are in good condition.
  • Maintain a healthy weight. Extra weight puts pressure on the knees.
Don¡¯t delay! Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine can effectively treat knee problems
Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine can treat knee problems caused by the following:
  • Arthritis in the knees
  • Cartilage injuries and disorders
  • Ligament injuries
  • Tendon injuries & disorders
  • Blood circulation
  • Tissues injuries
In general, the sooner your problem is attended to, the less recovery time is required. Therefore, it¡¯s important to seek treatment immediately once you have a knee problem. To avoid prolonging suffering and possible surgical procedures, don¡¯t delay your TCM treatment.
At 3 Treasure, How Do We Treat Knee Problem?
At 3 Treasure, we work out a personalised treatment plan for each patient after the initial consultation. During the initial consultation, our practitioner-in-charge will go through a detailed diagnosis, which will include full history, Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnoses(e.g. pausing, tongue, nail, facial Qi diagnosis), and sometimes incorporating Naturopathic Diagnosis (e.g. iridology, pH. Test, multi-stick test, hammer-view , meta analysis etc). Your treatment program will then be designed based on our years of experience in treating chronic & difficult syndromes.
The short term goal of treatment is to detoxify and reduce pain & reduce the severity of the symptoms. One or more of the following effective treatments will be used to help you to relieve pain, swelling, stiffness, inflammation, mobility and other associated symptoms:
  • Chinese Herbal Medicine
  • Acupuncture
  • Functional Food
  • Alkalise Diet
  • Life-style Change
  • Qigong Breathing Exercises
In Chinese Medicine, knee problems are often related to low energy in Kidney and Liver. Therefore once the short term goal is achieved, the long term goal of treatment is to repair damage in the internal organs, maintain the body¡¯s balance and to achieve an optimum level of the 3 Treasures in humans: Energy, Vitality & Spirit.
